This month we are focusing on the value "Divine Nature". We started off by having Tracie Penunuri's amazing Creme Brulee French Toast! I cant wait to make it for my family on Sunday for General Conference. Then we shared this video below with the girls.
To help the girls pass off the first "Required Value Experience", Courtney put together this work sheet for the girls. For those that missed this activity, download this sheet and get to it. :)
For those that want Tracie's Creme Brulee French Toast recipe. Here it is.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
6 (1-inch thick) slices French bread
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Adjust Servings
US Original recipe
yields 6 servings
Directions
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix in brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Remove crusts from bread (I leave the crust on--it's up to you) and arrange in the baking dish in a single layer. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, orange, and salt. Pour over the bread. Cover, and chill at least 8 hours, or overnight.
Remove the dish from the refrigerator, and bring to room temperature.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until puffed and lightly browned.
Flip over to serve.
