Camp Certification!

I'm so excited for girls camp so the fact that we just had our first camp certification activity makes me giddy. Thanks Lori Gatherum and Brittney Robinson for teaching the girls CPR and first aid. We also worked on the camp song. I'm so impressed with you girls and how well everyone can sing. Thanks girls for coming.

Thanks Lindsey for making some AMAZING Rice Crispy Treats!

Here's the recipe!

Caramel Crispy Treats

Ingredients:

1/2 c butter
2 pkg mini marshmallows
8 c rice crisp cereal
1 pkg caramels (unwrapped) or caramel bits (♥ those things!)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/3 c butter

Directions:

Grease 2 cookie sheets, set aside.  In large bowl, melt 1/2 c butter and 1 1/2 pkg of marshmallows.  Add rice cereal.  Divide this mixture in half and put half on each cookie sheet.  Pat down.  Sprinkle remaining 1/2 pkg marshmallows over one of the sheets.

In a medium pan, combine caramels, condensed milk and 1/3 c butter over medium low heat until melty and smooth.  Pour over the cookie sheet with the marshmallows.  Flip the other pan over the top of this pan to form the top layer.
Easier to cut if you let it chill a little while.
Tip – cut with a pizza cutter!!

May's IHOP

May's IHOP was on Individual Worth.  We had cinnamon rolls and worked with our groups for Personal Progress.  Each leader has 2 girls that she is going to work with on setting goals and keeping track of the personal progress those 2 girls do.  If you want to know who your leader is that you get to work with, Brooke has the master list.

Keep working on those Personal Progress goals and earn those ribbons and medallions!

We had Sister Inkley's sister Ashley come and teach us some Zumba! I'm not going to lie, I woke up the next morning a little sore. I love all the fun colored shoes.

Thanks Ashley for teaching us some fun moves!

Service Scavenger Hunt

We had so much fun serving in our neighborhood this last week. We split up the girls into 3 groups and sent them out to serve. The girls that came back with the most points won. Here is the evidence of service that we did that night. Its pretty cool to think about how many people we were able to help in just 45 minutes.

The girls were required to get pics of the services they did! I think they enjoyed serving by the looks of these pictures.

The girls made a quick stop to serve Sister Palmer and her son Luke. The girls sure do love her.

Once the girls came back, we gave them a "Top Secret" Envelope of two girls they would need to serve this next week!

Thanks girls for coming!

Divine Nature

This month we are focusing on the value "Divine Nature". We started off by having Tracie Penunuri's amazing Creme Brulee French Toast! I cant wait to make it for my family on Sunday for General Conference. Then we shared this video below with the girls.

To help the girls pass off the first "Required Value Experience", Courtney put together this work sheet for the girls. For those that missed this activity, download this sheet and get to it. :)

For those that want Tracie's Creme Brulee French Toast recipe. Here it is.

Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
6 (1-inch thick) slices French bread
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Adjust Servings

US Original recipe
yields 6 servings
Directions

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mix in brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Remove crusts from bread (I leave the crust on--it's up to you) and arrange in the baking dish in a single layer. In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, orange, and salt. Pour over the bread. Cover, and chill at least 8 hours, or overnight.

Remove the dish from the refrigerator, and bring to room temperature.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until puffed and lightly browned.

Flip over to serve.
